A transducer for deep water

The Airmar M265LH is a 1 kW echo sounder transducer intended for internal (in-hull) mounting in fiberglass hulls. The narrow beam angle of the transmitter gives a clear picture of the bottom and a clear rendering of structure even at great depths, which matters when fishing on open water and sailing on waters of varying depth. The high transmit power means the signal reaches deeper than with typical recreational transducers, while maintaining good echo legibility.

Internal mounting without drilling the hull

Internal (in-hull) mounting means that the element is placed inside the hull, glued to the laminate from the inside, without having to drill a hole on the outside of the boat. This method of installation makes mounting easier on an already launched vessel and eliminates the risk of leaks caused by drilling through the hull. The solution works best in single-layer laminate hulls, without foam fill at the mounting location.

Compatibility

The transducer is fitted with a 12-pin connector, so it works with older Garmin echo sounders and chartplotters that support this connector standard, including many models from the GPSMAP series. Before buying, check whether your Garmin unit has a 12-pin socket, because newer devices may require a different type of plug or an adapter cable.
