La Secchia Cinque Stelle balsamic vinegar of Modena PGI 250 ml - aged

La Secchia Cinque Stelle - balsamic vinegar of Modena, 250 ml

This is a five-star balsamic vinegar of Modena with the PGI (IGP) designation, made in the family acetaia La Secchia in Emilia-Romagna. It is a high-density PGI balsamic vinegar, a barrel-aged vinegar matured in barrels of different woods: acacia, oak, chestnut, mulberry, juniper and cherry. The bottle holds 250 ml and has a dosing stopper that makes it easy to apply drops. Every balsamic vinegar of this class should be treated as a premium addition.

Ingredients and flavor

The vinegar is made from cooked must of Lambrusco, Trebbiano Montanaro and Trebbiano di Spagna grapes and wine vinegar. It contains no caramel, colorings, gum arabic, artificial flavors or added sulfites. The maximum acidity is 6 percent. The taste is soft and creamy, with an elegant sweet-and-sour balance and a long, fruity-woody finish.

Use in the kitchen

The thick vinegar is best drizzled at the end of preparing a dish. It pairs excellently with roasted and grilled meats, aged cheeses, vanilla ice cream, strawberries and fruit salads. As a salad vinegar, a few drops are enough to give green leaves depth. It also works as an elegant gift for lovers of Italian cuisine.
