Sony FE 24-70 mm F2.8 GM SEL2470GM – bright full-frame standard zoom

Sony FE 24-70 mm F2.8 GM (SEL2470GM)

The professional's essential zoom

The 24-70 mm range with a constant F2.8 aperture is a lens that many photographers keep on the camera most of the time. The SEL2470GM from the G Master series is designed for full-frame cameras with the Sony E mount and works well for reportage, weddings, portraits, landscapes and video.

Optics and construction

• XA (extreme aspherical) element plus ED and Super ED glass elements
• 9-blade circular aperture for soft bokeh
• Nano AR coating to reduce flare
• DDSSM focus drive
• dust and moisture resistant sealing
• zoom lock and focus hold button

In practice

A bright standard zoom lets you work in low light without changing lenses and gives a nicely blurred background at 70 mm. The lens weighs approx. 886 g, has an 82 mm filter thread and no built-in stabilization, so it works best with cameras that have a stabilized sensor.
