Garmin GST 43 – speed and water temperature sensor

The GST 43 is a thru-hull transducer, i.e. one mounted directly in the boat's hull below the waterline. It measures two parameters at once: the boat's speed through the water and the water temperature, passing this data on to the onboard system.

NMEA2000 network

The sensor works to the NMEA2000 standard, which lets you connect it directly to the boat's NMEA2000 network without additional converters. The measured speed and water temperature values can then be shown on compatible Garmin chartplotters or on other onboard instruments connected to the same bus.

Use and replacement

The GST 43 can also be used to retrofit an existing, older mounting hole left by a 43 mm thru-hull transducer, for example when replacing a worn-out sensor with a new NMEA2000 model. The solution is intended for boats equipped with compatible Garmin chartplotters and instruments.
