Garmin Airmar B75M 0° – CHIRP thru-hull transducer for depth and temperature

The Airmar B75M is a bronze thru-hull transducer, permanently mounted in the boat's hull and designed to work with fish finders that support wideband CHIRP sonar, for example with the Garmin GSD 26 module. The variant described here has a 0° tilt angle, that is, an in-line installation - it is chosen for hulls with a small deadrise at the installation point, so that the transducer face stays parallel to the waterline.

Installation and compatibility

The transducer has an 8-pin connector, which lets you connect it directly to the fish finder or to the Garmin Marine Network, to which it sends both depth and water temperature readings. Thru-hull installation means seating the transducer in a hole in the bottom of the boat, which usually gives a cleaner signal than solutions glued on from the inside.

Operation in CHIRP mode

CHIRP sonar support lets you choose between a classic single frequency band and wideband scanning, which results in clearer separation of targets underwater with a compatible fish finder.
