Universal stainless steel transducer

The Airmar SS60 is a 600 W fishfinder transducer made of stainless steel, mounted without a fairing. The vertical beam works well on both fibreglass and wooden hulls, and the manufacturer has provided versions matched to a deadrise angle of 16 to 24 degrees at the mounting location.

Operating range

The transducer reads depth in a range from about 240 to 365 metres, operating at frequencies from 50 to 200 kHz, with a beam angle of 45 degrees at the lower frequency and 12 degrees at the higher frequency. This range makes it suitable for both shallower bays and deeper open sea water.

Connector and compatibility

The model has an 8-pin connector. When connecting to Garmin fishfinders with a 6-pin connector, an additional adapter cable is needed, which must be selected separately – it is worth checking this before purchase to avoid installation problems.
