The Garmin Striker Cast is a small, castable fish finder that lets you scan the bottom and look for fish without a boat – all you need is a rod, a line and a smartphone. The device is designed for shore fishing and connects wirelessly to a free app, sending the bottom image straight to your phone screen.

How it works

The fish finder is cast into the water like a lure, using a line rated from about 9 kg. The Striker Cast app shows a 2D image and a view useful for ice fishing from a distance of up to 60 meters, letting you scan the bottom and detect fish before you make the actual cast.

Construction and battery

The housing is lightweight and impact-resistant, and the IPX6 and IPX7 ratings protect the electronics from water and splashes. To save power, the device switches on automatically when submerged in water and off when taken out, which gives up to 10 hours of operation on a single charge.

In the box

The kit includes a storage bag, a USB charging cable, a mounting loop and an instruction manual. The fish finder module itself weighs only 75 grams, so it does not burden your fishing gear.
