Showy stonecrop Stardust – white perennial for rock gardens, 0.5–1 l

Showy stonecrop Stardust – perennial rock garden plant

Showy stonecrop (Sedum spectabile) in the Stardust variety is a showy perennial growing to about 50 cm. From August to September, creamy white, star-shaped flowers gathered in flat umbels appear above the light green foliage. The plant is sold as a seedling in a 0.5–1 l container.

Appearance and advantages

• stiff, upright stems that stay decorative in winter as well,
• the white flower contrasts with the green of rock gardens,
• resistance to drought and severe frost,
• low sensitivity to neglect.

Position and cultivation

Stonecrop likes sun and light, well-drained, sandy soil of moderate fertility. It looks good in a rock garden, in modern, Mediterranean and cottage gardens, and as a border edging.
