The SEL1635Z is a wide-angle zoom lens with a Sony E mount for full-frame cameras, developed in cooperation with ZEISS. The 16-35 mm range lets you fit a sweeping landscape, a tall building or a cramped interior into the frame, and at 35 mm it is comfortable for reportage and street photography.

Field use

The lens has a metal body and is pleasantly compact for a wide full-frame zoom, so it works well when traveling. Stabilization allows sharp handheld shots at dusk, and the constant aperture simplifies work when filming with focal length changes. It also fits APS-C bodies, where it gives a range of approx. 24-52 mm.
