Garmin Montana 700i – GPS navigator with inReach satellite

Garmin Montana 700i – GPS navigator with satellite communication

The Montana 700i is a handheld outdoor navigator with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, designed for off-road and road navigation. The device has built-in topographic maps of Europe and lets you create your own routes and waypoints based on the terrain.

inReach satellite communication

Thanks to the built-in inReach module, the device enables two-way text messaging and sending an SOS signal outside mobile network coverage, using the global Iridium satellite network. These functions require an active, paid inReach subscription, purchased separately from the device.

Navigation and positioning

The Montana 700i uses GPS, GLONASS and GALILEO signals simultaneously (Multi-GNSS), which improves position accuracy and stability in difficult terrain, for example in narrow valleys or under a forest canopy. The 480 x 800 pixel screen and virtual QWERTY keyboard make it easy to type messages directly on the device.

Durability and battery

The housing meets the MIL-STD-810 standard for resistance to shock, moisture and extreme temperatures, and the built-in lithium-ion battery provides up to 18 hours of use in GPS mode. Data can be expanded with BirdsEye satellite imagery and microSD memory cards.
